15 years ago I would have laughed and thought you were crazy if you told me I would become a wellness coach one day. I was far from living in balance. I grew up in a very abusive environment, my dad was a cocaine addict. I was extremely depressed in my teens and twenties to the point of trying to commit suicide and living impatient for 3 months. I struggled with my weight and binge eating. I struggled with relationships and drug addiction. I did not have a lot of friends and I felt very alone. My traumatic childhood led to no real direction for my future and I felt hopeless. I knew I wanted to change but I had no idea how.
Life kept getting harder. At 25 years old I become extremely ill. I was in horrible pain 24 hours a day with no hope. Interstitial Cystitis aka IC/PBS was the name given to my symptoms. I was told it was incurable and I would live with it for the rest of my life.
Along with horrible bladder symptoms I suffered many more health issues and emotional/mental illness. I was a mess. Throughout my journey to recover It become clear to me all my issues were connected.
I made a decision to not make IC my identity. I choose every day to fight and to heal. I refused to believe the doctors and held on to the belief that I could get better.
After trying all the conventional treatments and failing, I went on a journey into natural health healing. It took 8 years and with the help of amazing people placed into my life and trying many different things, I am healthier than I have ever been now. I have been free of IC for 4 years as of writing this without any medications or special diets. I have since obtained my bachelors in coaching psychology and attend a University for my masters in Counseling. I am a graduate of the International Association of Wellness Professionals and continue to take classes in all areas of health.
Change is hard, I know because I had to change everything about my life to get well. I failed countless times before finding things that worked but I refused to give up.
I cannot get you better. You can get yourself better. You can be better than where you are right now! I can guide you with understanding because I have been there. I can be your accountability partner, and I will not hold back. You hold the answers inside of you. My job is to help you get to them.
You must want to get better more than anything else in your life. You must be willing to give up the identity being sick gives you. You must refuse to make your entire life about your disease.
I get what you’re up against when trying to make changes in life and I’m here to tell you that positive change is entirely, absolutely, 100% within your reach with help.
